If a chapter exceeds 120 minutes, it must be split into two audio files and labeled accordingly.

Once the audio files are edited, we begin proofreading to ensure there are no errors.

Audiobook proofing is a meticulous process involving critical and in-depth listening to the edited audiobook, ideally using headphones to replicate the listener’s experience. This review is performed chapter by chapter, with comments added if necessary or approval granted for mastering. On average, proofing requires about 1.5 hours per finished audiobook hour.

During proofing, we listen for repeated sentences, narration consistency, errant sounds, pronunciation errors, gaps in sections, editing mistakes, and page-turning sounds.

This is where all audio files are assembled, and the audio is mastered to meet the publishing service’s required specifications.
